water, water, pick , pick...

Sweet peas - got lovely long stems. Wish you could smell them!

Iv not posted for a while as its been frantic. The shop , weddings, open garden on Sunday , watering, watering, picking, picking then more picking.

Visiting Dad as he is still in hospital! I have thought for the first time `i cant do all this` Time to delegate? My family have been amazing for putting up with me ALWAYS in the garden! Helping out. All hands on deck on Sunday my son helped serve ice creams . Poppy was in the shop and Hubie took the money at the gate. My lovely friends all came to the rescue. My dear friend stepped in to do teas and baked the most wonderful cakes.

I was surprised how may came in that heat and the endless sports on TV ( why people sit inside on a lovely day to watch TV astounds me?) My friends Hubie said after the match `Iv just wasted 2 hours of my life` couldn't put it better myself!

Thank you to all who have asked after my father. He is still in hospital but on the mend . He is missing the garden and wishes he could be sitting there now.He is missing the summer flowers.Sadly The hospital has a no flowers policy! Shame.
Iv been out hunting for vintage finds , some lovely bits and bobs in.
The garden is open June 27th- 11-5 for the NGS.

A big `Thank you`

To all of you who ventured into the garden and to those of you who helped. We have raised tons for the NGS charity (yes , it does go to charity-some people do question)

Having an open garden event :

1] Makes you really focus and get things done . Things that you keep putting off! Like weeding a brick path!

2] Meeting some lovely people (there are always a couple of rude ones ! Hey , There always are -we ignore those !

3] Lovely to see the garden tidy. No hose pipes ,bags of weeds left around

4] Makes you realise how lucky you to be able to do somthing you love.

5] Go in the hammock when they have all gone and relax!
