Ta, ta for now...

I have neglected my blogging duties of late as I have be struggling along with life.
My father, who is 90 and who lives with us got taken to hospital at Easter. He is very good for his age and has always been very active. His age is catching up with him now. We are doing all we can to keep him here at home with us. I love him dearly but it isn't easy at times. My kids are now teenagers and so they help out but it isn't easy for them. They have exams etc to deal with too.
I still have a shop to run, weddings to do and a garden to plot and plant but that is a blessing at times.

My Mother died when I was 7 and my Dad has always been there for me so I feel I should reciprocate.
So I may not have time for the blog as well!
Love to you all and thank you for listening over the years. xxx

Spring...oh, no it isn't!!

The first half of last week I was gardening , the sun was out and Spring was emerging....

 Then the snow came- SIGH!!
So I have hid inside painting - and working!! The shop looks Spring like, if it isn't outside!!

Love Spring flowers.

Get painting....

We are now selling Chalk paint . No chemicals, so no nasty smells! Goes on a dream, as no sanding or priming required. The effect is very Matt and creates a great look. So easy, I thought I'd sell it!!
We are selling the wax too.
Rose seems to be the most popular colour, perhaps we all crave some colour as its so grey outside??

I had my birthday this week and I had a truly lovely day. The warm sunshine was truly the best present of all. My hubbie and I went to Cambridge . We had lunch sitting outside with a glass of fizz. We could have been in the med! A stroll around the shops and then a long over due visit to the botanical gardens. A bargain at £4.50 pp You could spend a whole day walking round, take a picnic and sit on the grass or visit the cafe. We went to see the Winter garden in all its glory. We were not disappointed even if it more like a Spring garden. The bees were out and the scent wafted the air. Mahonia buds, Viburnum all   gave out delicious scents but the strongest scent came from the Snowdrops! The large leaved 'grandiflora'  I think? Amazing scent. The garden was filmed that week for Gardeners world to be on Tv this Friday we were told. The garden is well worth a visit even on a cold day you can look round the hot houses.

When we returned home my son was making the most enormous calorific chocolate cake- it will take us all a week to eat it! Yummy!!

I had a wonderful day with lots of great gifts from friends - Im told Im very hard to buy for but they seem to know me well ( I got 5 bottles of fizz!! and enough chocolate to keep me all year!!)

So now on to Mothers day- post you on the other side!!

Bit of a change...I

Id had enough , I needed space to move around! I have these moments of All change. I would like to be more dramatic but time , dimensions and customers wants prevail. I'm ready for Mothers Day now!

I have painted one wall grey- I may go Black- time will tell. We need light this time of year.

My lovely Poppy ready to go to her school Ball. How time goes by-18 this September!
 Dark double Hellebore's- COR!!!!
 Peachy!

 Spots...
Love seeing these stunning beauties emerging in my garden. The beginning of the week felt like we had turned a corner. We seemed to have returned to Winter-boo hoo!!!
I have had lots of plug plants arrive to pot up and I have planted all my Dahlia tubers, they are buried snug in pots in the poly tunnel.
The garden has been getting a clean up bliz - bonfires , sweeping, cutting- it has to be done! Ready to welcome Spring.
