Hoping you all had a lovely Christmas?
we all chilled , a sense of calm took over us all.
I read Monty Don`s diary - so in grossed I completed it in a day.A total inspiration , Lovely writing.
My favourite present- a poem from my daughter. Makes you realise we don't need to rush around in a stressful haze and throw our money at something to produce a thoughtful gift.

A relief its all melting away, the stress too .

I crave pink , blue (just not RED!)
Salad or a Curry?
Hot sunshine
Exercise.
A de-clutter

As much as I wallow in a relax , I'm not one for lots of tv and sitting down for long periods .
A crave my garden , for the blanket of winter to depart and awake to Spring.
I know its too soon yet! Something to dream about, seed catalogues , holidays to plan . Rooms to paint. I rub my hands in glee.
Some get all excited over this Yule tide feast, but I dream of the Seasons to come.

Sunday, 6 December 2009

Sunday has been a tidy up and sort out day. So nice to be outside . I potted up the unhappy Bay trees by the shop . They were so pot bound . They have been potted into old Dolly tubs from a vintage fair.
I got Easy Living magazine and was thrilled by the supplement about small individual shops. Some gems, i know I'm biased having my own shop but I'm not excited by main stream shops . When i visit one i love i want to chat to the owners and talk `Shop` some get very hostile and think you are stealing ideas and some are genuinely friendly , just nice to be supportive of one another.
Have you got a favourite small shop or do you own one? Let me know-It would be great to support each other- A website of `one off` shops would be heaven.

Getting lots done in the meadow cutting garden. The weather has encouraged me to `get on with it` before winter. Iv got some hardy annuals in that i started off in the pollytunnel-black Cornflowers and Cerinthe.

Pale and interesting

A change from Autumnal colours, pale pinks, or cream and mints.
As much as I love the rich hues , we all relish a change!

Monday, 12 October 2009

Hydrangea's-so easy to dry. Pop them in a vase with a very small amount of water, that way they keep that rich colour . I think they look far nicer when they are papery and faded.
